In the monumental composition "Before Consent" the tension and impatient expectation is expressed by the confident pose of the young man with his legs spread wide and holding a huge bouquet of roses. The large-scale image of the protagonist is shown, in a complex perspective, from the back, with a raised shoulder, creating a sense of confidence in receiving a positive response from his beloved. Each of the numerous details in the composition, as in a kaleidoscope, strikes with its faceted forms and intense flashes of color, highlighting the main character, separate objects (glowing windows of buildings, fragments of streets) - like rapidly changing frames of a film in the cinematography. Thus, the juxtaposition of the figure of the young man with the bouquet, sharply brought to the foreground, and the oblique, as if losing balance image of the cityscape outside the window, conveys the atmosphere of dreamy romance and good expectations.
