In Almaz Nurgozhaev's paintings, there is a technique that resembles a paused frame from a movie. It is as if flashes remain in the memory, which are then transferred with precision to the canvas. This is evidenced by the dynamics of the works, as in the painting "The Game".
No one poses for the artist on purpose, the author himself is not looking for "favorable" poses and angles. Everything happens as in real life. The stopped moment is honestly fixed in Nurgozhaev's genre compositions. Two human figures occupy almost the entire surface of the canvas. This is a memory from childhood of a merry game with his older brothers.
The older brother is depicted lying on his back, only the back of his head in a baseball cap is visible, he stretched out his leg to his younger brother, thus demonstrating the course of the game - according to the artist's words "Our older brothers used to hang small children on the tips of their legs and carry them to the ceiling".
The composition is rendered in black and white shades, with red accents, just as our memories pop up in our minds in sometimes colorless pictures.
