The Dominican Cathedral in Lviv (Ukraine) was built in 1749 in the Baroque style by architect Jan de Witte at the request of Jozef Potocki. It is the crown of the architectural ensemble of cathedrals in Ukraine. I was inspired by its majestic view and the history of its creation.
The painting depicts a breathtaking view of the architectural structures of the city, made with the help of watercolor techniques. In the center of the composition is a domed structure framed by elegant elements of decoration. Soft shades and detailed elaboration of buildings create an atmosphere of calm and comfort. The background of the painting is filled with building tops, parks and an elongated horizon, emphasizing the grandeur of urban development and the harmony of nature.
