Artist Kalachev Dmitry Romanovich (1922 - ?).
Artist Kalachev - painter. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts since 1955. Born in the village of Kalachevo, Prokopyevsky district, Kemerovo region. He came to Alma-Ata in 1950. Graduated from 3 courses of Almaty Art School named after N.V. Gogol, studied at A.M. Cherkassky and L.P. Leontiev from 1944-1946. Participated in exhibitions since 1948. Participated in national exhibitions. Specialized in genre paintings, industrial landscapes. Taught in the art studio of the House of Pioneers, Stalinsk, Kemerovo region from 1945-1950. Lived and worked in the city of Alma-Ata. Works are in the fund of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after A. Kasteev.
