Rug
"Rug" is a contemporary dialog with tradition, a material chamberon of memory. A fragment of a woven alasha is fixed on a 24×16 cm canvas filled with thick pomegranate color. Its characteristic, elastic pattern becomes not just a background, but the sacral basis of the whole composition - a reminder of home, nomadism, heritage.
On this woven field, felt balls are placed like precious beads or seeds. Their color scheme - from soft pink and coral to deep burgundy - repeats and develops the hue of the background, creating a soft, warm rhythm. They are complemented by an individual felt fragment - like a detached stone or an amulet found and sewn into a new card.
The work balances between painting (background-granite), ethnic textiles (alasha) and tactile sculpture (felt).
Technique: mixed technique: canvas on stretcher, acrylic, appliqué of alasha fabric, hand embroidery, felted felt elements.
Textural and color contrasts are clearly evident in this painting, rendered in rich red and burgundy tones. The unique combination of threads and three-dimensional elements gives the piece complexity and depth. Soft round shapes framing the fabric base create monograms that call the viewer to explore each detail, creating a sense of cozy and warm space. The technique of stitches and attached balls gives the work not only visual but also tactile interest, inviting one to come into contact with the art.
